Make Tomorrow Your Free Money Day

Facebooktwitterrss

Since my last post on the Best New Bank Account Cash Bonuses, there have been quite a few new offers. Chase is still going strong, but depending where you live you can get from $150 to $500 in new free money. These offers are extremely valuable if you need an extra account or two for Amazon Payment. Otherwise… just kidding. There is no otherwise; it is still free money.

The offers listed below pay at least $150, have easy terms and conditions and do not have qualifying direct deposit requirements. Enough already with that direct deposit nuisance!

NEW PERSONAL ACCOUNT BONUS OFFERS (HT to Doctor of Credit)

Bank of the West

$150 bonus for Easy Checking account. Other accounts have overly high requirements to avoid a $30 monthly fee.

Available StatesAZ, CA, CO, ID, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, WY

Highlights:

  • Minimum Opening Deposit is $100.
  • Expiration Date: 08/29/14.
  • Bonus will be credited by 12/31/14 to accounts in good standing.

Read full T&C HERE.

William states that Direct Deposit is required, however, I read the T&C very carefully and didn’t find any mention of it, except as an option to avoid a $10 monthly fee. However, you can also avoid the monthly fee by maintaining a “an average monthly balance of $1000 or more” or using “Bank of the West Debit Card for 10 or more purchases each statement cycle”.

Astoria Bank (New York only!):

$250 bonus “when you open a new Simple+ or Select Account, maintain the required balance and either: receive direct deposits of $250 or more or make three online bill payments of at least $25, during three consecutive months.”

Opt for the Simple+ account since Select has an overly high balance requirement to avoid a $30 monthly fee.

Highlights:

  • Maintain a $2,500 for 3 consecutive months out of four.
  • Expiration Date: 09/01/14.
  • Bonus “will be credited to the account within… 30 business days of the third month’s required bill payments”.

Read full T&C HERE and HERE.

US BANK (national):

$150 bonus plus “a chance to win a Tesla Model S or $100,000 in cash”. Opt for easy checking account unless you’re looking for other banking benefits.

Highlights:

  • Maintain a $1,500 to avoid a monthly fee.
  • Expiration Date: 09/12/14.
  • “Complete three or more Online Bill Pay transactions by October 31, 2014”.
  • “The cash bonus will be deposited into your new Checking Account within 60 days of… Bill Pay verification”.

NEW BUSINESS ACCOUNT BONUS OFFERS

Capital One:

$250 Bonus

From the horse’s mouth:

Sure seems easy to me! The expiration date is 08/31/14.

South Shore Bank:

$200 Bonus plus $50 check order credit.

Please note: the offer is supposedly valid for Massachusetts residents only, however, I have not found these restrictions in the T&C. The expiration date is not listed.

What you get and what you will need to do from the horse’s mouth:

  • Receive $50 for opening a new business checking account
  • Receive a $50 check order credit
  • Receive $50 for signing up for Online Banking
  • Receive $50 for signing up for eStatements
  • Receive $50 when you set up a recurring ACH credit

My Fabulous NYC-Rio American Airlines Flight Review

As you might know, I’m traveling in Brazil during the World Cup. Please forgive me if I post sporadically for the next 10 days. PreCheck I love PreCheck! I don’t always get it even though I am a “trusted traveler”, but when I do get it, it is really great. No scanning machine thatContinue Reading

My Nightmarish Walmart Experience

I wasn’t going to rant about it, but then I read an excellent Free-quent Flyer’s analysis of the newest Walmart’s Point of Sale System changes and decided to share my experience too. I’ve had my share of problems with Walmarts, but my today’s tour de force takes the cake. That’s two and a half hoursContinue Reading

New Hawaiian Cards Have Arrived

There are two new Barclays Hawaiian Airline cards: Personal and Business. Please click on the screenshots above to see the terms and conditions. Ever since Hawaiian Airlines severed their relationships with the Bank of America (the other Bank of Hawaii card was also managed by BoA), they’ve promised a new and better product. Today thisContinue Reading

Random Grunts

What a year it has been! A roller coaster, no less! Endless devaluations, endless rants, arguments, blogger wars, you name it. Our tiny, overcrowded niche is spilling over. Never before has our hobby been so entertaining, and not just to us–certified nutheads–but even to the folks standing on a sidewalk looking in. Ah, the hell withContinue Reading

LAN 40,000-Mile Offer Is Still Working

It was set to expire yesterday, but it’s still here. When you click, it opens a new page that doesn’t mention the expiration day. I would certainly save a screen (of the second page) just in case, but I don’t expect there would be a problem with receiving the miles, considering that the application isContinue Reading

JetBlue Now Allows Family Members to Pool Their Points

One of the least pleasant (to say the least) features of most airline loyalty programs is that they do not allow the members to transfer miles to friends and family. Well, not without a hefty fee. There are only three airlines, at least of the better known ones, that allow joint family accounts: British Airways,Continue Reading

Choosing the Right Credit Cards Is the Only Key to Free Travel…

Philip Taylor PT / Foter / CC BY …whether you like it or not. Follow my post on FTG (and the comments section) to see why the US Bank LAN credit card bonus that I announced a few days earlier is even a better deal than I thought. Hint: it gives you a free ticket betweenContinue Reading

40,000 LANPASS Miles Bonus from US Bank Credit Card

LAN (LATAM after merger with Brazilian TAM) is the largest airline conglomerate in South America. It practically owns the sky over the continent. In addition, their planes are great in terms of comfort and amenities–much better than a typical US airline with better leg space, better food and personal entertainment system even in economy on a long-distanceContinue Reading

Important Update: All Best Credit Cards Offers Are Now Current!

I know, I know, I have neglected my  blog lately, and I’m so sorry about that! Between my writing, endless editing, world-class travel (LOL) and my day-time job, keeping this blog up-to-date has been kind of challenging. No more slacking, I promise.
