On Aprtil 2, I made the case that the IHG card is no longer worth applying because Chase had limited the most important card’s benefit, free IHG anniversary night, to a redemption value up to 40,000 points.
New IHG Devaluation April 2, 2018 — Chase Limits the Anniversary Free Night to 40,000 Points

Aparently, Chase has received a lot of complaints about it and [somewhat] relented. Per Miles To Memories, Chase confirmed on Twitter that those who apply by 4/5/18 (today) will get the unrestricted free anniversary night.
We can understand your concern, and we’ll make sure to forward it for review. Accounts opened between 1/1/18 and 4/5/18, would receive the normal unrestricted free night certificate in the first year. Please let us know if you have additional questions. ^CM

With this in mind, I guess, my wife and I will apply for the card after all. We can always use a couple of nigths at a nice place, even so (or, should I say, especially that) it will be the last time. If you’re interested in getting the card on these terms, hurry up!
Here is the reminder of what the old IHG card is offering.
