LAN is offering incredible $299 RT fares (including taxes) between Miami and three Colombian cities: Bogota, Kali, and Cartagena. This is the first time I’ve seen Cartagena on LAN budget menu. This is a fantastic deal, and it won’t last. Grab it while you can.
To add some sprinkles on the cake, LAN offer includes a visit to another Colombian city for a mere $14. That’s two cities for $315. This is an incredible opportunity.
For some of you who still think of Colombia as a state of lawlessness and drug-trafficking, a lot has changed in the last few years. Colombia is safe, or to rephrase, it’s no more safe or dangerous than any other Latin American country. Tourists visit Colombia in flocks. You can even rent a former Pablo Escabar’s “bachelor pad” in Medelin. Quite reasonable, too.
LAN is a great airline to fly with. Planes are modern and well-equipped; even the economy class has good food and personal entertainment systems. Be aware that their customer service can be flaky sometimes, but once you’re up in the air, things are good. Good luck.
