The Shortest Round the World Trip Report You’ll Ever See (it’s all in the pics)

Facebooktwitterrss

My friend Seth from Tango in Tahiti sent me his RTW report along with some fantastic pics. Of course, most of their flights were free, courtesy of FF mile programs.

Building Our Round the World Trip:

We started with two destinations: China (where we have family currently living), and Dubai (where we found a bargain cruise sailing through the Middle East). Here’s how we built the trip:

Getting from Atlanta to Shanghai was a cinch with AA miles. 55,000 miles for a business class ticket. Only $55 in fees.

Shanghai to Dubai: The plane ticket was only $300 for a 4,000 mile trip, so we paid with cash rather than using miles.

Cruises from Dubai to Europe are as low as $500 and include two weeks of food, travel, and stops in Egypt and Oman. There’s no way to book with points, but with prices that low why not save your points for booking hotels in expensive cities like New York or Paris.

Europe and Home. Our cruise dropped us in Rome. We spent a day exploring, and then jumped on a plane to Berlin (a free layover with our AA miles). We spent two nights in Berlin and then flew home via Miami. Total cost from Europe to home was 25,000 miles and another $55.

Told ya: short and sweet. Make sure to check out Seth and Whitney’s website and connect with them on Facebook
