Things have been a bit slow in the last month, but there have been some new developments.
Chase British Airways Card with 50,000 Avios Bonus Waives the Annual Fee
Chase has recently introduced a new policy for most of their cards. If you haven’t had the bonus within the last 24 months (and aren’t currently holding the card), you can get the same bonus again. It has always been a case unofficially, but now, it takes any kind of risk out of eqasion. If you haven’t had the BA bonus in the last two years, I strongly encourage you to make this card the part of your next app-o-Rama. Just like before, the waiver of the annual fee is a limited-time offer.
Citi AAdvantage Card Officially Raises the Bonus to 50,000 Miles
If you have checked my lists of the best travel cards–I don’t know–ever, then you know that there have never been a shortage in the links to 50,000-mile bonus application. Still, it’s nice to know that they have officially raised the bonus (probably to showcase their new design, LOL), and we don’t need to apply via unofficial or semi-official link. How long it is going to last remains to be seen. And they have thrown two Admiral Club passes into the mix.
The First BankCard Sun Country Airlines Credit Car 40,000-Mile Bonus
I’ve written a post about this card here. This airline is based out of Minneapolis, and the program is definitely interesting, especially if you live in Minneapolis or travel there often.
Other Bits and Pieces
Some comments I’ve seen on blogs and Flyertalk seem to presume that the links to AAdvantage Executive card 50,000-mile bonus have been removed by Citi. I’ve checked the links on my Best Travel Cards for Free Flights page, and they are there and working. Don’t know what this all is about.
According to according to Gary Stiger, there is still a working Chase Business Southwest Airlines Premier 50,000-Mile Offer Link (until Nov 8, $99 AF, no mention of bonus, leap of faith is required). You might want to apply for both business and personal Southwest cards if you are aiming at 110,000-mile Companion Certificate.
In addition, Gary reports that there is a phone number for getting the 50,000-mile bonus.
- Update: Starting at post #1526, flyertalk members are reporting that you can call 800-278-4370 to apply for this card directly. The rep will read a script describing the 50K offer. This seems to me to be more reliable than the link I posted to the application page that does not describe the offer.
