As you probably know, starting February 1, United will drastically devalue its redemptions levels on partners. The worst increases (up to 84%) are for the First and Business class seats to Europe and Asia. If within the next year, you are planning on travelling on Star partners such as Lufthansa or Asiana but don’t know your dates yet, book anyway: you must be able to change the date later on for a mere $75 fee.
Note how I say must be. See, no one’s saying that United can’t change the rules once again anytime in the future. So, yes, there are some risks, but once again, if you do want to fly in a premium class on one of those airlines that blow any domestic carrier out of the water, this is your last chance.
But no rush, you know. You’ve still got one day. 🙂
There are even fewer reasons to rush transferring your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points to Hilton Honors (just kidding, do it before you forget). You have until February 5 to transfer your miles at 1:2 ratio, after that it’ll be 2:3 ratio. You will have to call them to make the transfer, so have your both Flying Club and HHonors account numbers readily available. The Flyer Bonus phone number is: 1-800 365 9500.
