I used to love TravelZoo, but I’ve been disappointed with their pickings lately, and by lately, I mean the last couple of years. This deal, however, seems to be a real McCoy.
The cheapest $119 rate is not the best offer here, although it is a fantastic deal for an oceanside South Beach resort—you won’t find a freaking beach chair in Miami for this kind of money. But just for $20 more you can get so much more!
- $50 daily F&B credit
- $50 spa credit for every 2 nights booked
- Two welcome drinks at check-in (reg. $26)
- Reduced resort fee of $15 per night, plus tax, reg. $30 (although it comes to $17, not $15 in my experience)
- Travel weekdays through October and Nov. 22-28; +$10 on weekends
THE LINK
Weekend nights cost only $10 more, which is yet another bargain.
Royal Palm South Beach Miami, a Tribute Portfolio Resort is located at 1545 Collins Ave, just a few short blocks from Ocean Drive. It offers two pools, beach chairs (and free internet, some fruit and water at the beach as part of their bogus resort fee). It has stellar reviews on Trip Advisor, less than stellar reviews on FlyerTalk, but once again: for this kind of money it is no-brainer if you’re in the mood for South Beach. The best days to use the offer in my opinion is in November 22-28, and availability is wide-open, for now, at least.
I priced four nights in November, including Friday and Saturday. The total with taxes and the resort fee came down to $719. That includes $200 in food and beverages, $100 in spa access, and 2 free drinks. You’re also supposed to get 2 free drinks daily as a part of the Resort Fee according to FlyerTalk, but I didn’t find it in the TravelZoo description.
And this is what the same four nights would cost you with other travel providers.
If you want to snatch the best dates, I would hurry. While this property might not be a pure luxury bliss, I seriously doubt anyone could find a better value around these parts.
