Flight Deals from USA to Iguazu Falls

I was about to go to bed when I decided to check if there was anything new on Twitter. Better if I didn’t because there was!

Damn it! I was looking forward to some well-deserved shut-eye!

Per Flight Deal, here is how this LAN deal goes.

  • Orlando [MCO] – $273
  • New York [JFK] – $324
  • Los Angeles [LAX] – $375
  • Miami [MIA] – $423

And this is what you earn with American (according to the same source).

  • Miles Flown: 10,780 or 3.0 cents per mile
  • Elite Qualifying Miles: 8,159 miles or 4.0 cents per mile
  • Base Redeemable Miles: 8,159 miles

Now, I have been to Iguazu Falls, and I’ve been to Brazil numerous times, and I can’t even begin to tell you what an amazing deal it is! And it’s on LAN, which actually has a great long haul economy product. And you can route your trip via Lima, although there are some less desirable routes with two stops in Santiago and Sao Paulo.

But wait, there is more. A stopover is allowed. So if I were you (and by you, I mean those of you who haven’t seen that true Wonder of the World), I wouldn’t stop there. I would make a stopover in Lima, book a short trip to Cuzco and visit Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley. That will set you back 9,000 Avios, which is more than acceptable price to see two Wonders of the World in one shot!

Both Brazil and Argentina charge Americans a reciprocity $160 Visa fee, and in order to enjoy Iguassu Falls fully, you will need to visit the Argentinian side, But if you find a good and trustworthy local guide to show you around—a guide who knows his way in those parts, you won’t have to pay the fee. When I was touring Iguassu, they just waved us through–in both directions. No questions, no paperwork!

The above Iguassu Falls photos are not mine. To tell you the truth, my photos are so shitty, I haven’t shown them to anyone for a long time. So I went to my old friend Morgfile and they delivered like they often do. In order to just begin to imagine how gorgeous the place is, close your eyes and remember Niagara. Then put the resulting image out of your head because 3 waterfalls in a tacky, unattractive city don’t hold a candle to 300 waterfalls in a magnificent rainforest setting. Sorry.

The Flight Deal has a great instruction how to use ITA Software Matrix Airfare Search. In all honesty, I found a sample fare and routing via Lima that I was looking for in about 2-3 minutes on Priceline (please start the search on their page to support them). But if it doesn’t work for you right away, just follow easy Flight Deal‘s instructions.

So am I going to use this fare? Nah! My second trip to Iguazu Falls is slated for the next winter, so I will have to pass on this amazing deal.

You on the other hand, shouldn’t. 🙂 Good luck!
