Brooklyn normally stands in the shadow of its grandiose and somewhat snobbish cousin across the river. But there is this one time of the year when good folks of Manhattan and good folks of Long Island and even good folks of New Jersey, not even mentioning good folks from all other New York boroughs grab their kids, hop in the car and go to my neck of the woods: Dyker Heights in Brooklyn.
Dyker Heights is a prominent residential neighborhood with gorgeous houses and more importantly one long-time tradition: building extravagant Christmas displays. Lucky for us, we live just a 5-minute drive away, so we can drive there whenever we want (and my kid wants like always). Enjoy!
