It’s not the first time that the saver rates to Brazil have been bookable: I wrote about it here and here, but this is the first time the flights have appeared on American. The uniqueness of this situation is that the most of the availability is on US Air (although, some are on TAM and American), and for the next two days, you can book them on both United and AA.com.
The World Cup begins on June 12 and ends on July 13. AA shows excellent availability from Charlotte to Sao Paulo, and there are a few flights to Rio, as well.
The United shows a slightly bleaker pictures, but there are still a few dates available.
Here is the availability from New York and Miami.
Flights back home is where things don’t shine. Availability is abysmal for every market.
In any case, I would get a one-way ticket for now even if the return date isn’t working for you. What you see here is a case of good, uncomplicated routings, and in the case of Miami even some direct flights. As for the flight home, something is bound to open up at a later date.
