As some of you may know, aside of the books, I also write articles about my travel experiences. I usually post them on Frugaltravelguy.com, the blog founded by Rick Ingersoll. Rick is a true budget travel guru; he is the guy who’s very important to me and my ability to travel the world without breaking the bank, and it was his blog and his book that gave me that final push in the right direction.
Anyhoo, this is my Berlin series. I already posted the first link back in May, and here is the complete series.
The Beginning.
This trip was not exactly well-planned. You could say it was spur of the moment. I booked a trip to Tenerife, Canary Islands with two 24-hr layovers in Berlin and Madrid. Can you really see a huge metropolitan city in one day? No. But you surely can have fun trying.

One Day in Berlin, Part 1
I traveled from JFK-TXL on Air Berlin in coach. It was my first flight with AB, and the first flight ever where I was barely able to use my 11.6” netbook. When the person in the next row reclined her seat, it became downright impossible. Nice packing job, AB.

One Day in Berlin, Part 2
“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall…” On March 27th, the day I left Berlin for the warmth and beaches of Tenerife, the Wall was removed once again; this time to give way to a new luxury condo development. The Berlin Wall! Feared and loathed symbol of a once divided nation, divided continent, divided world.
