Just a reminder!

The ideal length of stay at SPG hotels is as follows:

• 5 nights at Category 3 and higher hotels (fifth night free applies)
• A weekend at Category 1 and 2 hotels (fifth night free doesn’t apply)

Category/Points

 

Since staying two days at a hotel is not really a vacation, let’s bring all these redemptions to the common 5-night stay denominator. See, I’m not interested in anything beyond the first three lines.

• Category One: 13,000 points (if you utilize weekends)
• Category Two: 18,000 points (if you utilize weekends)
• Category Three: 28,000 points

So without further ado…

ASIA

China

There are 15 hotels in China that are going down an 11 that are going up. Among those that are going down, 14 will remain within the first three categories, and among the hotels that are going up, most are staying within the first three categories, as well. Here are the 14 properties going down.

Using SPG points in India can often land you in 5-star hotels and bring you 3X value and more — if you are planning on traveling to India, you should definitely consider point redemptions.

This hotel is located next to the train station, and the train can take you to Tokyo in 30 minutes. This is a very good addition at 7,000 points per night.
