If you want either or both, act quickly! The Delta SkyMiles award calendar has considerably improved as of late, and besides, in less than two weeks we will be able to book a one-way flight on an award ticket.

So, my wife’s app-o-Rama? How did she do?

Around November 16th, I submitted two applications for both of us. As I said in another post, I was approved for 5 cards out of 6, (well, let’s say 6 out of 7 with this Delta card). Mrs. Lazy Travelers was initially approved for three out of five.

The reason I post about my app-o-Ramas is not to brag, but to provide some data points. So here is a data point: Mrs. Lazy Travelers has the same score as I do (around 800) but lesser income and much shorter credit history.

She was initially denied both CSP and Barclays Us Air cards. Reconsideration calls are something I always dread with my wife because hates them and puts them off until the last moment–which, in this case, was the 29th day after the application.

However, unlike my experience, her Chase reconsideration  was quick and painless. We moved around some credit from her other lines, and that was all it took.

Her attempt to reconsider the Barclays US Air card denial was unsuccessful. She was told that the denial couldn’t have been overturned because she already had the same card. Which is total BS as you and I know, but whatever. I brought up an idea of making another call, but she gave me this look… 🙁

Anyway, 4 out of 5 is a rather good result, I’d say.
