I don’t do coupons or those special $5-10 off deals, etc. for 2 reasons. First, because there are other bloggers who do it better than me, and second, because these kinds of savings don’t inspire me, personally. I’m just not a coupon kind of guy, that’s all I’m saying.
But this one-day Ebates 13% cash back sale that I just found in my email, seems to be pretty good. Especially that you can combine it with store coupons and 5% credit card quarterly cash back. Chase Freedom offers 5% for Paypal. ChasePay purchases, and most stores would offer either Paypal or both — that means 18% savings even without any coupons. Not too bad!
Last time I remember an Ebates 13% cash back sale (or something similar) was last fall, and it was valid in hundreds of stores. This time the scope is smaller; just 75 stores available. Last time, however, we didn’t have the 5% Paypal cash back like we do now.
There are only a few major stores on the list, but I’m sure we can find something to our liking. No, gift cards won’t earn the cash back (at least officially and at least at the stores I’ve checked). Some categories in some stores are excluded from the Ebate cashback deal.
Also some stores offer “up to 13%” cash back rather than straight Ebate 13% cash back, including all OTAs, such as Travelocity and Orbitz, so check carefully what you’re buying.
