Citi AAdvantage Executive 75,000-Point Bonus
The newish Citi AAdvantage 75000 point offer after spending $7,500 in 3 months is available again. Good news!
Then of course, there is this:
American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles not available if you have had a Citi®/AAdvantage® Executive World EliteTM MasterCard® opened or closed in the past 18 months.
Not such good news. On the other hand, if you haven’t had this particular Executive card within the last 18 months, it seems you’re good to go.
Aside from the bonus, the card gives you and your family access to Admiral Clubs, one Global Entry or TSE PRE credit and a free checked bag. Go to the link above to see all the benefits.
I’ve had a few of AA Executive cards since last August, so I’ll have to sit this one out. Bummer!
If you can meet the spend quickly and close the card within 30 days (some FT-ers suggest 37 days) from posting, you will get the annual fee back. Check this thread when in doubt.
AMEX Massacre Survivor
All AMEX Delta 50-60K offers are now dead, dead, dead. Shot, burned, electrocuted! But this one has miraculously survived and been extended until September 29th. Which is nice, because business AMEX cards do not have these fatal limitations of once-in-a-lifetime bonus. As long as you haven’t had a business AMEX card for the last 12 months, you’re good to go. So yes, there is a silver lining. I’m sure I don’t need to remind anyone that you don’t have to have an “official” business in order to qualify for a business credit card. Treat AMEX business cards as a lifeline to keep you afloat.

UPDATE: Appears targeted—works for me, but not other family members with AMEX accounts

Andy, You probably intended to provide a link to a forum thread about the $450 fee and not pay it, but you have the card’s link instead. Could you give the link to the discussions? Also, would it still be worth it to pay the AF $450 for this card? To be honest, I am not sure I can follow how people can meet the spend and cancel the card within 30 days, get the AF back, and still qualify for the AA bonus. Could you please expand on this? It says that the bonus miles post within 8-10 wks… Read more »
Dydra, thanks for pointing it to my attention–fixed. $450 is a lot (there used to be a $200 credit, but not anymore) but for 75,000 miles it’s well below a penny for point. It is a great deal. Besides, if you fly often, the Admiral Club membership also costs something. Some folks pay this much for the membership alone. To avoid paying the fee, you have to be an MS ninja. You have to meet the $7,500 threshold in less than 40 days. That’s tough, unless you live in the MS Disneyworld and know what you’re doing. Do follow the… Read more »
